Royal Run in Horsens
Lace up your running shoes and join a big public celebration when the Royal Run comes to Horsens on Whit Monday. Here you have the unique opportunity to run alongside the Danish royals on distances of 1 mile, 5 km, or 10 km.
Bring your family for a run with the royal family
On June 9, 2025, the Royal Run will pass through Horsens. With Horsens Fjord as a backdrop, you can enjoy exercise and community at a distance that suits you. At the Royal Run, everyone is welcome, and you can choose whether you want to run for glory and the fastest times or take a leisurely walk for fun.
The routes at the Royal Run are manageable distances, suitable for all levels and age groups. You can also easily bring the children along and let them experience their first run on the short route of 1 mile (1.6 kilometers).
Registration and practical information
Registration for the Royal Run opens on November 12th. 15,000 participants will have the opportunity to join, but the Royal Run is a popular event, so make sure to sign up in good time if possible. You can register on this site.
Participation in the Royal Run costs between 170 and 330 DKK, depending on the distance. The price includes an official Royal Run T-shirt, a medal, a race bib, a chip, and a finish photo/video.
H.M. King Frederik, H.M. Queen Mary, and their children will participate in the Royal Run. However, since the Royal Run takes place in five cities on the same day, it’s not possible for all members of the royal family to be present in every city. Nevertheless, there will be royals in each of the five host cities.
About Royal Run
The Royal Run is organized by "Bevæg dig for livet," and is supported by DGI, DIF, and Dansk Atletik – in close collaboration with the Royal House, TV2, and the municipalities. In 2025, the event will be held not only in Horsens but also in Viborg, Ribe, Korsør, and Copenhagen. The first Royal Run took place in 2018 in connection with H.M. King Frederik’s 50th birthday, and since then, it has been held annually on Whit Monday.
